Strikes were less this month due to the national elections.
The Abia State Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) embarked on an indefinite strike on 27th February, following the failure of the state to clear the backlog of unpaid salaries and pensions arrears and its failure to fully implement the 2019 minimum wage. The next day a protest was held in the state capital.
National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) directed its members to join the strike. However, ASUU members are not joining the strike despite some not having been paid since March 2022.
